Service Innovation Centre (SIC)

|
The SIC is a key
strategic pillar for the development and
implementation of innovative initiatives to
create a new service mind-set among staff and
students. It is equipped with the latest
technology such as a panoramic screen and
real-time video-capturing systems to create a
totally new experience in service training. The
videos are annotated using ITE’s in-house
developed software, iDe’Lite® - a service
training tool recognised as one of the
Innovations of the Year by the US League for
Innovation in the Community College in 2009.

herbs and spices that are often used in the fine-dining

Li-Ning Retail Training Lab
|
|
To engage our
students in authentic learning, a Li-Ning retail store
was set-up on campus. The set-up is an emulation of a
retail boutique, and it carries an array of sporting
goods and merchandises bearing the Li-Ning brand, a
leading sports brand provider from China. This store
provides practical retail expertise and knowledge of a
leading sports brand for our students and prepares them
for the industry.
All retail students on the retail program go through
their training in the store. Training encompasses
day-to-day operational tasks such as cashiering,
inventory management and price tagging. With this given
opportunity to sell directly to end consumers, our
students are able to further hone their retail skills by
picking up the product knowledge, selling techniques,
retail functional duties and analyse the effectiveness
of sales promotional activities. |
