Background of congress, including objectives, target audience,
participation profiles, etc.
1.1 Organised by SHRI, the 11th World HR Congress & Business-Connect Exposition 2006 recorded a high point for the HR profession in Singapore. The event attracted more than 2000 delegates from more than 60 countries, the highest number ever recorded in the history of WFPMA’s World HR Congresses. The exposition was also the largest HR show in Singapore, with more than 90 exhibitors representing the human capital industry. This event was graced by Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong.
1.2 Following the success of the 11th World HR Congress, in May 2007, SHRI launched its inaugural, local and international event in Singapore -Singapore HR Congress- to reach out to leaders and practitioners to meet, discuss and solve pertinent HR issues. The Singapore HR Congresses since 2007 have been attended by more than 500-700 delegates annually from Singapore and Asia Pacific providing with more than 30 exhibitors from the Human Capital Industry. In 2010, delegates from 13 countries participated in the Congress.
1.3 The Singapore HR Congress 2011 will once more provide
the same platform for global exchange, learning and sharing
among Business Leaders and HR Professionals. Themed “What’s Your
Productivity and Innovation Quotient- Strategies to Drive People
and Businesses Ahead”, it will address pertinent issues on today
and tomorrow’s business effectiveness, productivity and
innovation, leadership, people issues & challenges in the face
of tougher times and a borderless world. Insights into managing
talents and strategies for building human capital capabilities
will keep the Singapore HR Congress relevant to the world’s
corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, people managers and HR
executives and professionals.
1.4 This event is being
promoted as a major event in the calendar of SHRI to provide the
opportunity for HR practitioners to share their knowledge to the
HR fraternity of Singapore. This Congress will feature prominent
speakers, presenting the topics in demand by HR practitioners.
It will attract a high level of audience who want to be updated
on the latest trends and issues within the HR community and
beyond.
1.5 The
focus of the Congress will be on issues of productivity and
innovation in organisations as well as on talent management and
succession planning in order to ensure business sustainability.

1.5.1 A leaders’ Perspective – Insights for a Productive and Creative Economy for the next 5 Years (Keynote 1)
1.5.2 Developing Productive Leaders and Teams: Equipping them with the Skills Necessary to Succeed. (Keynote 2)
1.5.3 Talent Management and Succession Planning – What Works? Strategies for Asia (Concurrent Sessions by Regions)
1.5.4 Closing Panel Discussion The Asia Experience in Talent Management and Succession Planning (Keynote 3)
1.6 This Congress serves as a springboard for corporations to find its own breakthroughs and internal transformations from various highly interactive sessions, packed with discussions, debates, cross-sharing and learning. It provides delegates with immense opportunities to learn, share and network.
