The cornerstone that is dedicated to supporting the well being of individuals as
they move through their personal transitions and juggle with career and family
life demands – that is SHRI Workplace and Career Advisory Centre. We provide
advice, referral, consultation, educational assistance and employment-based
services on workplace and career issues to people who are recently laid off,
unemployed, facing retirement blues, confused about the career prospects, or
facing problems at the workplace.
SHRI Workplace & Career Advisory Centre helps
individuals to move on and forward in their careers; we assess individuals'
abilities, strengths and skills to assist them in their job search or provide
the necessary training to help them gain the skills they need to find a job.
Our services include:
Workplace, Career & Personal Advisory Services
Targeted at fresh school leavers, mid-life workers who are undergoing career
transition, and employees who are facing challenges at work or at home, which
are affecting work performance. We strive to help these individuals gain
confidence and adapt positive attitude to deal with their challenges. We will
counsel issues relating to:
· Workplace problem intervention – re-entering the workforce, dealing with
difficult bosses, exploring career options, workplace bullying, navigating
workplace politics, retrenchment and unfair dismissal, work-life strategy
issues, workplace conflicts, stress, etc.
· Inability to perform assigned tasks to the required standards
· Intransigent absenteeism, lack of punctuality or any other disciplinary
problem
· Lack of motivation and under-performance
· Lack of commitment and responsibility
· Disruptive behaviour and serious interpersonal problems with seniors,
colleagues or subordinates
· Mental block about skills upgrading, or unwillingness to upgrade
· Stress-related problems: making more mistakes, falling ill more frequently
than usual
· Personal or family-related problems which are interfering with work
performance
· In adequate or ineffective work-life strategy
