Executive Director, Mr David Ang's message:
Tribute to SHRI's Pioneers.
It is of deepest regret and
sorrow to learn of the passing on of two of SHRI’s key personalities and
contributors, Mr. Teddy Lim and Professor Tan Chwee Huat. On behalf of the SHRI
Council and Advisory Panel, I would personally like to extend my condolences and
heartfelt sympathy to the families of both reputable men, who have contributed
much to SHRI and its entities.
I remember Teddy as an inspiring individual who was both creative and motivating
in all aspects. His ideas were highly valued and he was a respected senior
member of SHRI and SPEC, in both his capacities as Vice-President and Council
Member of SHRI, and Founding member of SPEC. His extensive experience in all
legal HR issues was of great help to the organization in the early years. We are
extremely thankful to him for his pioneering work in SHRI and SPEC, and he will
always be remembered for his patience and modesty.
Professor Tan was a learned and dedicated man who was always ready to give his
time and advice for the benefit of SHRI’s learners. As a key member of National
University of Singapore’s Business School, Prof. Tan used his knowledge and
experience in the educational field to assist SHRI Academy in many ways, always
providing valuable advice. He had also written a few publications, namely
“Singapore HR Quictionary”, “Human Capital Management in Singapore – A Basic
Guide to Concepts and Issues” and other books on human resources management,
including “Employment Relations in Singapore” which are provided to SHRI’s
learners. He had also contributed books to the financial services sector in
Singapore. As a valued member of the SHRI Academy’s Advisory and Examination
Board, Prof. Tan will always be remembered for his humility and dedication in
his contributions and work..
Once again, the members and staff of SHRI, SHRI Corp and SHRI Academy would like
to extend our condolences to both families, and we will always be appreciative
of how Mr. Teddy Lim and Prof Tan Chwee Huat have contributed to our
organization in their own unique way.
