Singapore HR Congress
Singapore HR Congress 2008
During the
Congress, sharing experiences and knowledge with the delegates were
speakers who are HR advocates in the fields of talent management,
leadership and human capital development, among others. Forty-one
exhibitors also took the chance to present to the delegates their
latest and most innovative HR solutions. During the week, some 150
participants attended the HR Day where they attended the various
workshops and networked with the 14 exhibitors present.
Guest-of-Honour, Mr
Lee Yi Shyan, Minister of State for Trade and Industry, who opened
the Congress event emphasised the quality of human resources as
winning factor of successful enterprises. He saw that SHRI that is
advantageously positioned to accomplish two important tasks:
1) Raise the professional standard of HR practices in Singapore to
the world standard and
2) Make Singapore a regional centre in HR expertise, practices,
research and development.
Managing talent is
the most critical human resources challenge worldwide as revealed
from the Future of HR survey 2008, bringing more top leaders and HR
leaders and practitioners together at this Congress to understand
and tackle this issue is more crucial than ever.
The survey also found that
managing work-life balance is another important area of talent
retention, as employees will increasingly make job choices in
consideration of family needs and personal development.
Once again, we
would like to extend our appreciation to all delegates, speakers and
sponsors who have attended the Singapore HR Congress. We welcome
your comments and feedback as we strive to improve the quality of
our events and provide you with greater opportunities to share,
learn and network.
