Therapeutic
Counselling Skills (HRM124)
The assessment of the socio-psychological condition in Singapore is a
bleak one. Every one in four marriages ends up in divorce. There were
2000 teenage abortions in the past year among girls under 16 years of
age. Mental problems have also risen sharply with many suffering from
depression, anxiety disorders and schizophrenia and this includes
children.
Our
socio-psychological well-being is crucial as mental toughness is
increasingly looked upon as a key component we need to develop in order
to keep ahead in our highly competitive world. Counselling can help us
to monitor and strengthen our mental tenacity and socio-psychological
well-being.
