Effective Coaching & Mentoring for Managers And Executive

Do you want to retain, motivate and develop your staff to be high performers? This workshop will provide you with the required skills and competencies. Discover how you can apply the appropriate coaching functions to meet your subordinates’ needs and build employee commitment towards superior performance.

Objectives

  • Clear understanding of the qualities of a good mentor

  • Identifying the roles of the mentor, mentee

  • Overview of adult learning concepts and relevance to mentee

  • Developing mentoring relationships

  • Managing the different communication and learning styles and

  • Learning how to provide effective feedback in a mentoring relationship

  • Foundation Building: What is it? Skills? Diff between coaching and mentoring?

  • One more time: How do adults like to learn?

  • Mentoring model and what am I best suited?

  • Communication tools in mentoring: Listening to Feedback giving

  • Mentee and Mentor agreement

Methodology

Workshop will be facilitated using lecturettes, discussion groups, pen and paper exercises, one case study and two role plays.

Trainer Profile

Mr Yin Hong Shuen FSHRI SHRP, has 40 years of Human Resources and Industrial Relations work experience working in a variety of industries including Electronics Manufacturing, Media, and Petroleum. Positions he held include the Training and Development Manager of Texas Instruments, and HR Director of Caltex Asia. Mr Yin was a Change Management Consultant for 3 years during which he spearheaded several organizations through their HR re-organization during merger and acquisition.
