MGSM Single Units

The MGSM Single units provide an ideal means of updating skills or providing an introduction to postgraduate study by testing the waters before committing to a full programme. Single units provide stand-alone credentials or can be used as a stepping-stone for further study at MGSM.

Programme Structure

A selection of units is available each year that allow students to study one or more subjects in their chosen area. This format provides an ideal introduction to study at the School, or an opportunity to update skills in a specific field. The maximum credits permissible from Single Unit study is three units.

Course Duration

Each course unit involves 40 hours of face-to-face lectures. In addition, students can expect an additional workload of approximately 80-120 hours. This time will be spent preparing for lectures, undertaking individual and group assignments, projects, presentations, as well as research and studying for examinations.
Assessment Methods

 MGSM utilises a variety of assessment procedures, which include:

· Individual and group assignments
· Individual and group presentations
· Examinations
· Class participation

Not all units have exams. In some units, performance and class participation marks are awarded. Weightings of each component will vary across units.
