Communities of Practices
(CoPs)
SHRI has partnered WDA to conduct Communities of Practices (CoPs)
sessions that encourage cross-sharing and divergent thinking through a
process of reflection, exploration, debates, sharing and exchange of
practices and assumptions. The CoP is a platform and methodology that
allows HR professionals from various industries, consultants and
academia to engage each other and learn more about best human capital
management practices on more specific issues. To date, four CoPs have
been formed to tackle areas of Ageing Workforce Management, Service
Leadership, Employee Engagement and Leadership Development. Each CoP is
made up of HR practitioners from both the public and private sectors who
meet once a month to discuss case studies and come out with suggestions
to address the issues and challenges faced.
Leaders hailing from
various industries will lead and facilitate topical discussions, spread
over a 3-year period. As industry captains themselves, each will play a
significant role as a CoP Champion to nurture and grow a thinking
workforce in each respective industry, with good people management
practices that permeate the entire fabric of the organisation.
|
The outcome is
to instill an enquiring mindset amongst CoP participants such that we nurture
more robust practitioners and thinkers. SHRI strives to imbue the HR community
with a thinking culture through the Communities of Practices (CoPs)
scheme, with the aim to develop Singapore’s vision of a world-class workforce.”

SHRI & CoP (Enhancing the System)
"To compete successfully in the future, we can no
longer afford to rely solely on our efficiency and speed. We need to leverage
human capital resources, both local and global, to further unleash our potential
in order to achieve extraordinary results. The management of human capital goes
beyond mere human resource (HR) administration. It is a broader concept that
encompasses an organisation's ability to synergise and make productive use of
its human capital to enhance global competition"
