Message from the Executive Director of SHRI

Our Commitment Towards Training & Education

Founded in 1965, SHRI is committed to providing a high standard of services to our students. This is made possible through collaborations with professional organisations and institutions of higher learning to provide a conducive learning environment, quality and relevant syllabus, and qualified and experienced lecturers.

SHRI strongly advocates education and training as the critical cornerstone of human capital development. We continue to play a vital role to create value and facilitate mindset change through our lifelong education and training programmes so as to promote progressive human capital management practices for the enablement and enhancement of globally competitive and innovative workforce.

Our diversified range of programmes accommodate students with different education backgrounds and career aspirations. SHRI offers Certificate, Diploma, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses in areas such as HR management and development, people relations/skills and industrial relations and finance and risk management.

Academic Board

SHRI places high priority on the relevance, standard and quality of our programmes. Our Academic Board, made up of local practitioners and senior officials from SHRI Executive Council and Secretariat, meets regularly to review course curriculum, standards and results of examinations. The Board spares no effort to ensure that all our programmes are constantly reviewed, revised and updated so that quality and standard are maintained at the highest level, and that the curriculum incorporates the latest developments in the respective industries, both nationally and internationally.

SHRI lecturer to student ratios

Our lecturers, trainers and instructors are selected based on their experience, qualifications and delivery competency. We have a total of more than 100 qualified and experienced associate training professionals who are experts in their respective fields. They are constantly reviewed and assessed to ensure that standards are maintained. Our trainer to trainee ratio for lectures and tutorials are capped at 1:80 and 1:40 respectively.

Student Protection Scheme (SPS)

SHRI Academy has in place a Student Protection Scheme (SPS) in the form of a student tuition fees insurance by HSBC Insurance that serves to protect the international and local students’ fees in the event that SHRI Academy is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. In addition, the SPS protects the student if the Academy fails to pay penalties or return fees to the student arising from judgments made against it by the Singapore courts.  This scheme is compulsory for international students.  Under this scheme, local students are given the choice to opt-in for the SPS in the Standard Student Contract (Local Student).

More information on SPS is available at CASE website.
