SHRI’s
Skills Certification programme is designed to provide a structured framework for employees in
the financial services industry. It aims to broaden their knowledge and
provide the core skills that are recognised by the industry as critical
enablers, thus keeping employees up-to-date and enhancing their
performance in the key functional areas of financial services.
To equip employees with the necessary knowledge of the operations,
practices and procedures relating to the core functional areas of the
financial services industry, training in the following skills clusters
are offered: Cluster 1 Lending; Cluster 2 Trade Services; Cluster 3
Investment and Cluster 4 Personal Financial Counselling.

The modules listed above may be conducted in a
different sequence.
Course Duration
·
Modules
1 and 2 in each cluster consist of 16 sessions of 2˝-hourly lectures
·
Module 3 in
each cluster consists of 8 sessions of 2˝-hourly lectures
·
Lessons are conducted twice a week
Assessment
Methods
There are 4 papers in all and
participants must attempt
Papers 1, 2 and 3 before they are allowed to attempt Paper 4.
Examinations on Papers 1, 2 and 3 are offered after the conclusion of
lectures for the respective modules, usually one week after the last
lecture session. Examination on Paper 4 is usually offered two weeks
after the examination on Paper 3.
Candidates who have passed all
papers and satisfied all requirements will be awarded the Skills
Certificate in Financial Services (specialising in the specified
skills cluster).
Advancement
Participants who
acquire at least two Skills Certificates are encouraged to progress to
the Institute’s Diploma in Banking and Finance or Diploma in Investment.
