Professional Certificate in People/Supervisory Skills (ProfCertP/SS)

SHRI’s ProfCertP/SS programme aims to develop your confidence and impact both as an individual and as a team member. It provides a better understanding of roles, responsibilities and goals, and enhances involvement and commitment at all levels of the organisation to achieve improved performance. This certification also encourages recognition and reward of your role and value-adds to yourself, your peers, customers and other stakeholders in today's increasingly complex workplace and business environment.

Course Content 

Module 1 - Managing Self
Asks why individuals at work behave differently and discusses how these behaviours affects peoples' motivation, jobs and relationships. It looks at how knowledge and understanding of concepts and principles in knowing oneself can increase one's effectiveness.

 
Module 2 - Managing Relationships
Helps individuals to work more effectively with others; its topics include value formation and perception, valuing difference and diversity, and interpersonal effectiveness competencies.

 
Module 3 - Managing the Dynamics of Relationships
Enables individuals to apply the knowledge and experience gained to determine the power and influence individuals have to better negotiate and manage customers and team members.
 
Module 4 - Managing Organisational Resources
Looks at human capital and information technology issues in an organisation and explains how the various organisational functions and processes can lead to value creation and innovations.


The modules listed above may be conducted in a different sequence.

Course Duration

· 20 training hours; 2 semesters
· Lessons are conducted twice a week

Assessment Methods


Candidates are assessed through presentations/ assignments and a written examination at the end of each module. Upon successful completion of the programme, candidates will be awarded the Professional Certificate in People/ Supervisory Skills by SHRI.
 
Advancement

ProfCertP/SS graduates are encouraged to enrol in the Professional Diploma in People Management or Diploma in Business & Human Resource Management programme.
