Supporting The Growth Of Singapore
As A World-Class Financial Centre
The on-going
structural changes and developments in the financial services industry
have altered the training landscape for the industry. There is now no
dedicated training provider of technical skills and knowledge for the
industry. To help fill this void, SHRI launched its School of Financial
Services & Risk Management, to prepare the human capital in the
financial services industry for professional business engagements in
terms of practical knowledge and technical competence.
The School of Financial Services & Risk Management was officially
launched on 27 Feb 2002 by Mrs Lim-Ho Geok Choo, President of SHRI in
the presence of 72 Business and HR Heads of 42 financial institutions.
Through the School of Financial Services & Risk Management, SHRI is
committed to helping professionals in the financial business ride
through the ups and downs of business cycles and emerge skilled,
knowledgeable and competent.
SHRI will provide a vast resource of expertise to the financial services
industry and assist financial institutions in assessing their training
needs, reviewing and auditing their training processes and programmes as
well as customising learning solutions to meet their specific needs.
SHRI believes strongly that training and learning interventions must be
linked to the business needs and strategy of each organisation and that
the HR professionals in these institutions have a key role to play in
facilitating the conduct of training needs analysis to identify skills
gaps at all levels of the organisation.
SHRI aims to assist organisations relate their training to their bottom
line. SHRI will be working with HR professionals, training facilitators
and business heads to evaluate ROI of training. More importantly, SHRI
will work with these professionals to closely align training with their
organisation’s business strategy.
All these will be made possible through SHRI strategic alliance with a
global network of consultants, practitioners and trainers who have been
working with financial institutions across the globe in providing
effective learning solutions.
